McCain's visit with Dalai Lama sparks criticism from China

China expressed "deep concern" on Monday over U.S. presidential contender John McCain's meeting with the Dalai Lama, saying the spiritual leader is trying to split the country and "disrupt social stability" in Tibet. After meeting with the exiled religious leader for 45 minutes Friday in Colorado, McCain called on China to release Tibetans imprisoned during an uprising earlier this year and account for those who disappeared during the protests against China's rule.
